We are a Registered Investment Advisor and a professional money manager. Why not deal with a brokerage firm or mutual fund salesperson who works for a bank or an insurance company? The answer is that there are simply too many conflicts of interest! Compensation based on product commissions, transaction fees and investments that only they sell (e.g. Proprietary funds), are all problematic.
